Headed up the mountain this morning with elk bugles on the mind. A terrible road. At roughly 8000ft I switched from hunter to off road recovery as some Texan was in his Honda accord stuck. If you don't wanna be made fun of don't drive accords up terrible mountain roads the morning after a 24 hour rain storm. We got him out and he got turned around. Made me chuckle.

You banked some good karma my friend...

Headed up to 9400' today. Have been up there for fifteen days (incl pre-scout) and came down to see the wife and pups and restock/do laundry.

It rained a lot where I was so I decided to take advantage of the storms. I don't do lightning!😁

Best of luck to you. Kill a big one!

Like this guy I helped a few years back, he had slid off what I consider a SxS trail. September snows can bring all kinds of NR excitement during and after storms.

I've been that guy. Gotta appreciate the determination. You should see the places I took a geo metro in college. Sorry I didnt have a $30k sxs.

I usually like to let the Californians and Texans sit for a while and think about the consequences of their actions before I pull them out. I guess it might be a little different when they're on the side of a mountain rather than in town.

Had an adventure in the Rincon’s east of Phoenix ‘96 Oct hunting coues in my wife’s escort when a nice unexpected snow storm hit. It was rough but I got her out.
Young married Marine w/out much $$$, 1 car, got to do what u got to do

I worked with a guy who insisted we have 4-weel drive, a winch and two shovels. When all of them are exhausted and we're still stuck, it's time to start walking. That was his philosophy for pretty much everything in life.

I guess you could call that determination. I usually called it being a bull-headed SOB.

Expected to read about the rumored TSA sick out at Austin bergstrom airport…

Kill a bigun and good on ya for helping.
