Tent camping in November

Very much just a routine to deal with some snow. Good wall tent and stove you’ll be fine as long as it doesn’t mess the roads up. Can’t help you with any rental information but in addition to a tent and stove you’ll want a chainsaw as well.

Great photos. I’ll look at getting a chain saw, and a broom.

And I’ve tent camped in fourth season as well. Just depends on the year but overall I wouldn’t hesitate to tent camped 3rd season.

BV/Salida are in the "banana belt" known for their mild weather compared to pretty much everywhere else at similar elevations. No hesitation to camp in third rifle. It can be plenty cold, of course, the higher you go...

Purchased my flights to Denver last night. My plan is to be a tourist for a few days at the beginning of November then scout for the 3rd season.

If anyone has suggestions for things to do, early November, between Denver and the central part of the state it would be great to hear from you. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for everyone’s help on this thread. I now have a solid plan for CO. The hardest part is being patient until Nov!

Consider just doing a big Buddy heater with a 20lb propane tank too if you don't want to mess around with firewood, and depending on how big the tent ends up being.

Good idea, thanks. I will look into a buddy heater.
