Ted Cruz's position on Federal lands

I read that Presidential hopeful, Ted Cruz, is interested in transferring the vast tracts of BLM and USFS lands to the States. I can't say that this is absolutely the truth, as there is a lot of fake news on the net these days.
I see this is one more problem in trying to weed out what candidate to support. I agree with our host, Randy Newburg, that this would not be a good thing. As flawed at our Federal agencies are in managing all these lands, it would be a disaster if the States inherited them.

On Tuesday, which was primary day in Idaho, there were tv ads running all day and his most pronounced statement was that he wanted to wrestle control of federal lands away from the feds and "return" them to the state.
