Pardons don’t bother me. Every president does it and all can be questioned or celebrated. It’s the least of my concerns.

Stupid economic actions do concern me.

Stupid economic actions? Ive got one that i couldnt stomach - taxing unrealized gains.

I wasnt excited about it when i voted for him. I wasn't deceived though - do you see the difference? I think the political oligarch crime family getting a pardon is much worse than those people, personally. Id hope that you would say the same thing if trump issued blanket pardons on his family and favorites in his admin - i would.

If congress were to amend to remove pardon power - id be all for it.

I have to admit, the preemptive pardon of Fauci boils my blood more than most of the other pardons.

I am on a fixed income as well. My wife finally got a job last few months, so we went a whole year living on my disability pension and savings.

Doesn't change the fact Trump promised lower prices for Americans.

I personally didn't see how its possible with his plan.

So my wife and i both voted "none of these candidates."

We didn't, and still don't trust Trump. And if Kamela was going to get anything "done," she had the opportunity, but didn't.

Basically we are in a holding pattern regarding spending.

Optimistic things will get better price wise.

But we have to save as much as we can in the event I can get a transplant. Add in costs associated with medical travel, and it is very difficult.

But I asked my wifes now new boss and our local grocer what this means for food prices.

He said pretty clearly, it will mean a 25 percent jump in prices.

We import a lot of food stuff from both countries. Very difficult for us to grow it all here.

I have a bunch of medical supplies for my home dialysis. Right now I have supplies from 4 different countries. USA, Singapore, Ireland, and Mexico.

Add in the deportation issues, migrant farm workers, and his hostility towards the same, and I see nothing but continued high (er than average) inflation for the foreseeable future.

I hope I'm wrong.

It’s quite strange and certainly worth examining that one individual in government can impose tariffs influencing an entire economy and functionally tax the citizens living within it by leveraging an act and claiming some dubious “emergency”.

The executive branch is out of control and Congress spineless, and until that’s fixed it seems to be a very destabilizing risk regardless of which team runs the show.

The tactic is to see if he can get Canada and Mexico to engage in stopping the flow of illegal drugs and human trafficking. You can decide if it is at emergency levels. He knows he can do only so much to stop it from one side of the border.

Trump wants action not debate from the two. He is doing it to get them acting. It will play out within 30 days.

That is not accurate, if they raise prices 25% they are padding their margin. It is on the value of the item at manufacturing or production not the value of the retail price. Most likely 5-10% impact at retail.

That was exactly my point in the other post. We had a real lack of options on a good candidate. Same could be said pretty much every election I've voted in and progressively getting worse.

There is no such action as a "one fix setting"... Multi layered. Thus ERO / HSI focused on violent offender / drug involved criminal aliens. focus on primarily Asian organized crime operations in Canada pushing MDMA, Mexican/South American Cartel ops finding easier passage through across the U.S. / Canadian border (DEA assessment) - another layer towards reducing what might end up in our children's schools, universities, etc. Internally, it rolls into State / Federal enforcement along with the interstate Federal ops.

I think the big difference will be impact to consumers. Most Americans aren’t interacting with solar cells and electric cars from China on a daily basis. Folks do buy groceries regularly.

That said, I doubt these last more than a couple months.

I don’t support taxing unrealized gains either but it never happened. It would have needed to be passed by Congress, not enacted by executive order.
