Tariffs and Potential Inflation

It’s quite strange and certainly worth examining that one individual in government can impose tariffs influencing an entire economy and functionally tax the citizens living within it by leveraging an act and claiming some dubious “emergency”.

The executive branch is out of control and Congress spineless, and until that’s fixed it seems to be a very destabilizing risk regardless of which team runs the show.

People may blame government, immigrants, DEI, or any number of other things, but the majority of people who delivered Trump’s victory ultimately voted for lower prices because their dollars weren’t going as far as they were pre-covid. If Trump cripples the government, gets rid of the immigrants, and undoes 50 years of civil rights gains, but prices don’t go down, he’s going to lose that goodwill pretty quickly.
Prices were a small small component of Trumps win. The biggest were immigration and ending the woke bullshit.

War still going on per Putin and the President has been in office over 24 hours. What is up with that? I reread the transcript as fully expected a promise made to be a promise kept even if no hand was on the Bible last month.

Eggs still a buck a pop and rising. What is up with that? I cleared the shelf of maple syrup at the store to get a bargain as that price is jumping up up up. So much for winter fruit and veggies at Election Day prices. Sure, I can eat frozen blueberries out of season but frozen lettuce sort of is like wet tissue paper. What is up with that?

Yep, shameless. Not that pardons couldn’t be bought before, just another tool for the big club.
The same can be said of the largest tariffs to date placed on China were at the hands of the Biden Administration.

Where's the thread on that action extending anywhere remotely close to 56 pages, none the less 1 post during that extreme escalation of the tariff trade war?

Good.

I am troubled by a lot of people giving that a pass.

Pardoning someone who hasnt been charged is unprecedented BS - and if trump had done the same 4 years and a few days ago - media would still be touting it as corrupt.
Are you equally as troubled by 1500 pardons for January 6?

I wasnt excited about it when i voted for him. I wasn't deceived though - do you see the difference? I think the political oligarch crime family getting a pardon is much worse than those people, personally. Id hope that you would say the same thing if trump issued blanket pardons on his family and favorites in his admin - i would.

If congress were to amend to remove pardon power - id be all for it.
