Again, those are not serious comparisons. Trump pardoned his father in law in first term and just pardoned every convicted of seditious conspiracy to overthrow the government. And none of those Biden actions are close to orders that directly contradict the Constitution and federal law. Maybe the next person says "Gun crime is a national emergency, the second amendment is done. Guns are illegal." Seems extreme and people, particularly here, would be up in arms. It feels like this is where Project 2025 takes us in terms of Presidential power. Each new person pushes the limits a little further just so their followers can cheer.28th amendment announcement, FEMA NC/FL disaster, preemptive pardons, Hunter’s pardon (after specifically saying he wouldn’t), cocaine (from ???) in the White House, $1B in campaign funds gone with a few months, President often hidden from public, etc.
It’s not the same but it’s not different either. This pendulum is getting pushed from both sides man.
Edited to add: I largely agree about EO’s. If we could back to passing reasonable bills without a bunch of nonsense tagged on we could get rid of EO’s.
A lot of this is focused on the budgeting process. Making tax cuts permanent requires revenue neutrality. The IGs have input into that process for their respective divisions. There is no way to meet the Byrd rule without fudging numbers. People need to be hired in those positions that will be "less good" at basic math.
