Tariffs and Potential Inflation

Sooo...I'm right, but disingenuous because you accuse me of claiming something that I never claimed and actually wouldn't argue against? You are making me think you just want to argue.

Don't argue against your second paragraph either. But you may want to check with some other posters on the thread because they are giving out bad info while trying to take the same position as you. The funny part is, I'M HEAVILY INVESTED IN US O&G. But the bullshit is getting thick in this thread, so I will slip out the side door until we get some tariff news.
No one can say you don't follow the party line to the T or accuse you of being vexed by independent thoughts.

For you, people are automatically in the "other" party when they point out facts that disagree with your beliefs. I have to live in the world as it exists, not the world as I wish it was. The Biden EA on nat gas is a prime example. It was reported as pausing LNG exports. That is significant and can change the values on some of my investments. I literally had to go read the EA to determine that wasn't what it was. The incorrectness is so widespread that I almost think it was intentional, but I don't go all conspiracy theorist on social media. It actually was just another political move to appease a small group of supporters. I didn't like it then and the reversal this week is perfectly fine with me. But yeah, I have the same feeling on some of the EA signed this week by the orange guy. A lot of talk and little substance that will make it through the courts.

Let the corruption begin...
Again with the Friday night announcements. It's like he is trying to hide them.

Meh. DOGE (Dept of Grifting Extraordinaire) will become the one size fits all govt oversight function. 😂

Hide what? He has been saying people in these positions will be getting let go since before he won the election. But the way you word it makes it sound so nefarious and juicy....oohhhhhh I care now tell me more of the coming corruption.

What some don’t seem to understand is that Trump supporters are going to give him a lot of leeway, at least proportionally to the nonsense that the Biden administration pulled. And with his last minute preemptive pardons that needle got pushed even further.

Like it or not, Trump is again a reaction to the administration that came before. And this last one was particularly ugly if for no other reason than the obvious cover up and Biden’s declining mental health and government interference with social media mainstream media.

So, no, they aren’t going to upset if he pushes the boundaries by firing people without talking to Congress or even if his tactics around the economy or deportation or whatever get a little messy.

Right or wrong, that pendulum is going to swing.

As was pointed out, you would never care anyway. This was part of that Project 2025 he didn't know anything about. Firing the people in charge of monitoring and reporting corruption in the government is not a great way to start an administration. Particularly when you hired them last time. But neither was shilling a $shitcoin with his name and another with Melania's, announcing various Trump-branded projects in the middle east, or collecting $250m for an inauguration that was moved inside (and it will be interesting to see if he stiffs the tax payer on the bill). Dude is practically advertising he is for sale.

Again, not yet different from the last administration.

You can’t be serious. Biden was an old-school rule follower almost to a fault. You need to point out specifics and exclude anything that reversed Trump 1 actions. This is why a hate EOs. One person puts them on and the next one takes them off. We get nowhere. However, this week we got EOs that were directly anti Constitutional and laws confirmed by SCOTUS that he said he wasn’t going to enforce. All I can say is be careful because the pendulum will swing in the future and the next person who decides not to follow the law might do the same thing on stuff you don’t like.

28th amendment announcement, FEMA NC/FL disaster, preemptive pardons, Hunter’s pardon (after specifically saying he wouldn’t), cocaine (from ???) in the White House, $1B in campaign funds gone with a few months, President often hidden from public, etc.

It’s not the same but it’s not different either. This pendulum is getting pushed from both sides man.

Edited to add: I largely agree about EO’s. If we could back to passing reasonable bills without a bunch of nonsense tagged on we could get rid of EO’s.
