We (Uncle, son and Myself) leave for Colorado early Thursday morning from Shreveport, LA. My Uncle and I will drive out to Chama and meet up with Ken (NHY) for supper and good fellowship. Travo my son will Fly out to the Durango Airport friday allowing him to go to his College classes Thursday. He is really pumped getting to finally getting to come along on this trip. I hope we tag out early as all of us like to fish for Trout. Best of Luck to everyone else and hope you tag out also! John:D

Good luck and have a safe trip. I've been hearing that the elk numbers are way down in the SW corner of the state. I hope you guys prove the naysayers wrong!

Good luck to your whole party but most important, be safe and have fun!!

If it's still there, that little resturant on the south end of town on west side of hwy had darn good food!

402, please thin out the rag heads before I draw another AZ tag! Thanks !!

the High country lounge and saloon is what you may be talking about. Great food and great old western saloon.:D

We had a Great trip and were around Elk, but never "IN" them. My son had one coming busting through the Forest when a Red Duelly came into the Meadow he was hunting and the Elk Busted Back up the Mountain. We saw some Good Mule Deer and caught some Trout. All in All it was a great hunt...just nothing got Bloody! We met up with NHY in Chama and ate Supper and Breakfast before going to Pagosa Springs for some supplies to round out the list I had. WTG on a Great bull Ken, See ya soon. John

Welcome back, sorry you guys didn't connect, but some of my most memorable hunts didn't involve getting bloody.

Any pictures?

I know how much it meant for you to get to spend time with Travis & yer uncle in the mountains..the elk will be there next year & you are still wayyy ahead.

...be sure to tell the story about reserving the one bed cabin for you & ur uncle.:D

Like Billy Crystal and Gregory Hines in Chicago, most elk on public land in October are Running Scared. Sounds like you had a fun hunt, despite no blood.
