Figured I wouldn't post the unit to reduce future internet search hits.

Anyone been in the antelope unit directly northwest of Wamsutter, WY, the last few years? If so, wondering what your experiences have been like. Just got back from a scouting trip last weekend and plan on heading back up for the opener.

Not great pics, but a few below.

Seems tall.

The last time I had a tag for that unit, I killed an 83" antelope 2 hours after the season opened. I haven't been back and may never. As others have suggested, enjoy the opportunity and the experience because it might be your only chance. There will be very little hunting pressure and any buck you find will likely stay pretty close. Stay off the trigger and look around as much as you can, good luck!

Thoughts on this buck?

I do plan on enjoying the hunt, and coming back for a week in Oct, if needed. But I'm not above shooting a no-brainer in the first couple days either...

My current dilemma.

This is 1 of the 2 biggest bucks I've come across. Problem is, he has no prong on the right side. Would anyone shoot this guy on a tag you're likely never to get again? If his right side matched his left, I would be on him opening morning.

You're on the ground, really need to set your goals and head down that path. You'll know the buck you want as soon as you see him

I’d enjoy the tag for as long as you can. A good pronghorn tag shouldn’t be stressful, it should be fun.
