I couldn't afford a 4runner and found a '96 Nis Pathfinder w 5 speed, v6, 31" tires on stock suspension. A solid rig, room to sleep in back w seats out, 21 MPG. Easily towed 1000#. It served well. Later I learned to avoid Nis trucks w auto trans, as many models had leaky AT coolers that caused tranny failure. I did spoil a morning hunt by locking the doors while sleeping inside. When I moved around, it set off the F-ing alarm multiple times, and the elk I put to bed nearby were long gone in the morning. Duh.

I have an 80 Series Land Cruiser (1996)

Sweet rig! This is exactly what I'm on the hunt for. The 80 seems to be one of the best all around for a hunting/offroad rig.
