Surprise in shotgun barrel purchase.

So, my niece inherited a Remington 870, 12ga.
28" barrel with no removable choke. (I'm assuming modified choke)
She wants to use it as a home defense gun.
So for her XMAS present I ordered her a new barrel.
18.5" with bead sight & removable choke.
Website i ordered from claims barrel made by "Target Sports".
Barrel showed up at the house a day early. (A good thing)
But in unpacking it, there was the package box, then another box inside that had the barrel.
Big lettering on the barrel box.
"MADE IN CHINA"..


Egads!!
Is nothing sacred??!!

Doesn’t surprise me. China makes knock off 870’s under several different labels. Rumor has it the HR Pardner Pump was manufactured in China and some say they went together better than the 870 Express of the same era.

Is the new remington arms making barrels now? Ive been wanting to get a barrel for my 870 wingmaster.

Did you order it directly from Target Sports? Or a third party site?

I order A LOT of ammo from Target Sports and can't recall shotgun barrels being advertised,,, But I'm not on the site looking for them either.

I'd rather not identify them, as their service was good, and i know a lot of people buy ammo off of them.

Not that either company misrepresented themselves or the product.
But i probably would have bought from Remington had i known.

I think its more about the principle. Ordering a barrel for classic American shotgun, then receiving the item and its proudly labeled "made in china" just feels gross.
