Suppressor help

Anyone in Montana have experience with Eliteiron?
Me. I have one on my 22lr bolt action. It is stupid quiet. I would highly recommend it for a 22. I just bought a Nomad on Friday. The shop who recommended the elite iron did not recommend it for the larger calibers. Likely due to the weight of their larger cans. The nomad will run on my ar and I'm going to thread my tikka t3x lite 308. I'm going with 1/2 28. Putting a xeno muzzle break on both guns so it will be ready to switch between the two and it will protect the muzzle when there is no can on.

Baffle strike? Tell your story if you don’t mind?
Brand new can it hand under 20 shots on it I can’t find the pic for the life of me. Did not strike the can I sent it in to silenceco and they deemed it a catastrophic failure on their end. I went back a week later when the snow melted and found the end it was clean it literally blew the can up. It sucked I got it out of jail that day and then it took 14 months to replace it after all that. They also stuck me with another tax stamp

That’s crazy. Glad you didn’t damage anything else

I was pretty pist about it they told me I should feel lucky they even replaced it due to shooting hand loads. This was like 8 years ago I chopped my win mag down to 20” to make it more handy and ordered that can for it so I had like 5-6 different rounds loaded to see what it wanted to shoot and was sending them across the chrony it burst in like shot 11-12 pushing a 190 grain around 2700 fps if I remember correctly

I haven’t looked at their stuff in a long time but the first suppressor I shot was an elite iron. It’s cool they’re in MT but I think there a lot a better options out there for hunting.

I just glanced at their lineup and they’ve definitely lightened things up. They used to be really heavy suppressors…

It’s has a “muzzle break” on the end of it I sawed the couple extra piece off to shorten it up but never put it on the replacement when it showed up you can see it’s clean that thing blew like a frozen beer can

Check out Rex Silentium inc. They're made in Bozeman. I've got 8-9 of them. I also own two Si-Co Omega 300's and prefer the Rex. Mine are MG7's.

I didn’t realize they were made in Bozeman. My brother said he’s been selling quite a few of them. They’re a very reasonably priced option. I’m surprised you don’t see them mentioned more often

Many suppressors like the Nomad and Scythe have interchangeable direct thread hubs. You just get the correct one for your barrel. No adapter. Adapters add weight and length and I wouldn’t use one for the primary use of the suppressor.

Wow that's wild, did they determine the cause?

1/2-28 is fine for 7mm.

Some suppressor manufacturers site possible side load weakness if the rifle is dropped on the suppressor, on the smaller wall thickness for their reason to recommend larger threads.
That's what I have on my 7mag. Direct thread SiCo Harvester.

Faulty welding I think as there were several that blew. They say they addressed the cause and improved the process. I bought a recent manufactured one and hope all those problems were fixed.
Wouldn’t be the end of the world now really pist me off to wait over a year have it 3 hours and have to wait again

Yeah, that'd sure piss me off too. Seems guys who've recently had Scythes fail have had replacements in a week.

Are you happy with it or would you buy a different one if you were to do it all over. Obviously the replacement time was ridiculous. I’m just curious if you are happy with it, all the other things aside?
