You are accurate the Obama did have the name changed. I do think that the history is interesting pertaining to the failed attempts of the AK legislature, as well as current/former AK senators and reps, attempting to have the Denali nomenclature for a few decades.

The ban affects the entire Eastern Seaboard, the Pacific Coast along California, Oregon and Washington, the eastern Gulf of Mexico and the Northern Bering Sea.
Eastern Gulf of Mexico is renamed Eastern Gulf of America now.
