Stalking out turkey

Spring turkey is as much fun as any hunting I do if they are gobbling and strutting. If not, I'm not interested. I get to a high spot b4 daylight. Locate a bird that is gobbling and get to where you think he will go when he flies down. In KY, birds stop 90% of their gobbling by 9am. I rarely hunt after that. In most cases, I have killed that bird on the 2nd day because he usually does the exact same thing unless I or somebody else spooks him. Knowing the terrain and not letting him know exactly where you are is the best way to succeed. Birds get hung up because they know EXACTLY where you're at. Dont call if he is close enough to pin point you. Scratch leaves.

Find gobblers by scouting gobbles. Listen just b4 daylight. If you dont hear a gobble, go somewhere else until you do. You can get them to gobble at dusk sometimes but not always.

Never understood fall turkey hunting? No gobbling, no strutting?
Gobblers are apt to gobble and strut in fall when the temperatures are the same as in Spring. It's the hens that limit the behavior to the correct time.
