Spot/stalking a coyote

How I stalk a bedded coyote. I will use the face of a clock as an example. Wind blowing from 12:00 to 6:00. The bedded coyote is the center of the clock dial. After triangulating it's bearing. I sneak in from the 10:00 or 200 angle. Which puts me up & cross wind from the coyote. If I'm quiet enough, I have plenty of time to go prone for a relaxed shot.

I usually stalk them from the seat of a clapped out '96 F-350 Powerstroke, with a flat bed and shoot them with a .22-250 that has been bouncing around in, and has never left, the same truck since 2003-ish.

Typical of my hunt area. We do have timbered areas. But I focus my time on the open rolling hills. Fence line is 1/2 mile out from the roadway.

If I see a yote whatever I have available as a weapon gets used. I’ve unloaded a mag full of expensive ammo from my Glock 32 on more than one occasion.

We call this the 90 mph sneak haha

Edit: assuming you use that pickup to get from 600 to 150 as fast as that thing will get you there, while your little brother gets that 22-250 out the passenger window.
