I’m sure some people do this, but wouldn’t you have to purchase two tags in this scenario?

Would the second non-hunter be able to turn their tag in for a refund and have the hunter keep their tag?

Nevada did away with this possibility.

Basically, if people draw as a party, and anyone returns the tag, everyone has to return the tag in order to reinstate bonus points.

Eliminates using someone to point share, only to have them reject the tag and keep their points, and do it again next year.

Building points for a few more years sounds great until the NR elk unit quotas get cut in half and your points will have half their value. Not to mention point creep. I am at 9 elk points now and am burning them on a 100-4 cow tag. I am coming up on 60 yrs old and once I burn them I am never buying another Wyoming elk point. I’ve never elk hunted for myself. This is a one and done for elk. I also have 10 and 11 points for deer and antelope with a plan to do one in 2026 and the other in 2027. After that any trips to Wyoming will be for fishing in the Yellowstone area.

Just wondering why, you are not getting a gen tag instead of a cow tag with your points. Cow meat usually taste better than a bull. Can you hunt with both weapons on a cow tag? Would have PM you but couldn't.

I tried, seems he is set on wasting his points on a cow. They are his to use how he wants.

Why do you need a tag to enjoy a hunt with your son?

I do enjoy hunting with my kids when I don't have a tag and like scouting for them for few days before the season opens if I have time
