I see a bunch of folks using solar chargers.
I have an I-phone, and an I-pad and a Go-pro I would like to charge while hunting/camping/hiking. Which products do you outdoors folks recommend?

I'm sure Randy will chime in. He's pulled some out on the hunts we've been on together. I don't know much about tech but if I remember right he was charging his gadgets with them. For some reason I think it was a Brunton.

I see a lot of guys talking about Goal Zero products, specifically the Nomad.

I'm close to buying the Adventure kit by Goal Zero but to be real honest I've been dragging my feet.
If I'm understanding correctly it can charge Phones,Tablets,AAA AND AA batteries. Most reviews are positive and it comes in right at one pound. It's real popular with the sandal crowed right now. It retails for about $120.
Anyone have any first hand knowledge?

I'd check this out as well. Saw them at the outdoor show here this spring. Pretty sweet setup. Especially if you have a camp fire or plenty of propane/white gas.

It was a bit heavy for a backpack hunt, I think, but not bad.

For the true outdoors adventurer who still needs to keep in touch with the folks back home, the Solio Universal solar charger kit just might fit the bill. We're not talking some giant solar panel here. Rather, the compact (4.7 inches by 2.5 inches by 1.4 inches; 5.8 ounces), oval-shaped device fans open to include three small panels, each 3 inches long. Although it's too big for a pocket, the Solio will fit easily in a bag, and we like the simple white color.

I've used CNET for electronic reviews and they have served me well. I have not seen this though seems pretty popular review wise and the weight: 5.8 ounces!

Seems interesting...(?)
