A Warmer Climate
Here's how it looked in mine this morning around 7:00am. This my better half braving the standing temperature of -22. Later today it's supposed to dip a bit more with the wind chill to somewhere between -35 to -40. So I guess it might be a little while before we break out the sun tan lotion. There is more snow and cold in the forecast so it should be an interesting time around here trying to stay warm.

40 below 0 wind chill here, but what the hell..its January in Fairbanks.

My back yard hmm...about 300 square feet of compressed snow liberally dotted with dog doodie.(really really looking forward to break-up)

Maybe about 0-5 degrees with about 2 feet of snow and a buried 83 chevy half ton that I hope I dont have to move til spring, cuz I know I aint digging it out.

Warm temps and a wall of snow 5 feet high around my deck. Sidewalks are like walking between to walls of snow. More snow coming today and tonight. Will put pics up later.

Joel, look at the great exercise you can get by digging that out.

Well, Dave Malcolm (the backyard dog, lab coon hound mix) won't come out of his house. There is about four inches of white powder floating on top of a continual sheet of ice about an inch thick and there is a new Catalpa tree rooting too close to the foundation for comfort. Near the woodline there are lots of deer stracks and toward the ravine the trails look like Martian canals. Squirrel nests are plentiful, high and tight so there ought to be some yearlings for supper next season.

Looks like it's going to be a cold Yukon Quest this year, Erik...

Yukon Hunter,
That guy bears a striking resemblance to Elkgunner:

I was wondering where he's been the last few days...

Well Cali, that's the difference between Southern California and Northern, It's been in the 50's here and wet for the last week with either rain or fog great for hunting.
