Smart computer people, I need help!!

I may have asked this before....maybe not, so I will ask anyways.

When I click online, sometimes (about 4 out of 5 times) I will click on the little down arrow up on my address bar to click onto HuntTalk. Well everything is fine and dandy but then my internet will just disconnect for no reason. It will also do this when I try jumping from any website to another one....say I want to go from Yahoo to here it will disconnect me. It doesn't always do it but it does it a lot and to tell you the truth it is really starting to tick me off. Does anyone know what is causing my internet to just disconnect and what I could do to fix it?? It never did this before.....just about the past 3 months or so it started.

Are you dial up, DSL,or what,and what kind of PC you running,how much RAM,what kind of video card,how fast is your processor,etc ?

are you running a pop up blocker??

Are you using a 56K dial-up and have call waiting?
Way to many variables to make a diagnosis without a whole lot more information.

Sorry guys....I'm a total moron when it comes to computers. I just have cheapy dial up (gotta pay for my own internet and I'm to much of a tightwad to get something good). How do I find out all that other stuff you were asking about?

I feel like such an idiot not knowing where to find that stuff.....but I feel right at home here at Moosies.

i have that problem some times i change my access phone #s an make sure my call waiting is diconected

Check into DSL through Verizon. They have a package right now that their DSL is 29.00 I dont know if that is for any other states but here in Wa and Or I know for sure. You wont get dumped any longer

I have the same problem but I get IEDLL.EXE fault flash. It bugs me. I'm running a relatively new gateway with ME with dial up (56K) no call waiting or anything. Its enough to make me use my monitor for target practice

LBG thats exactly what I'm using but my monitor says "Proview". Really gets your ticked, doesn't it??

Get cable....but I would trade your crappy hook ups for the scenery you get there for mine anytime.

Nut would never be indoors if he lived there.

Sorry TK but like the others said ,there are many variables to determine exactly what is causing it to happen.
