Cool old pistol. I love the wear on the blueing. Looking at the grip makes me think it wouldn't be the most pleasant to shoot, though. Have you fired it?

Nope. Haven't fired it yet. Have ammo. Just want to research it first. mtmuley

Looks like a 2nd model. They began production in either 1915 or 16, s&w dropped it in 1940.

Looks like a 2nd Model Hand Ejector. Cool old guns and they were well built guns. A good 240 hard cast bullet at 900 FPS will be just the ticket!

Flip the cylinder out and check the serial on the frame. Should help you narrow it down. Tend to agree on the second model hand ejector. Sweet Roscoe! Love a purpose built 44 Special.
