Our local Sitka outlet, the first in America, had a sale the last couple days to get the “Gore” garments out of inventory. It seems there is a chemical in the making of Goretex that California law makers can’t abide.

Wouldn’t it be better to just ban California?

Good thing the level of plastics on live Christmas trees doesn't offend California.
Otherwise my whole house is contaminated with needles that just imploded off the tree getting it out the door.
Pitfall.

I think, Colorado did the same. Lots of new PFAS laws from a lot of places. Apparently some people don't want to leave a chemical wasteland to their kids and grandkids. Total buzz-kill.

Have you seen what the Yangtze River looks like where’s it dumps into the ocean? I doubt if China is concerned about what toxins they leave for their posterity…

I don't live in China and don't care if they choose to poison their future generations. There are options other than PFAS clothing. I tend to think it isn't about the environment for WL Gore, it is about the profits. The American way.

You mentioned chemical wasteland and we all know how many products we use in America are made in China…

And you are complaining about a ban on those products. The World is not an HOA. If you are expecting American consumers to drive change it will be a long wait. All I can hope for is we don't gut the EPA here. Like you, i enjoy catching a trout in a beautiful, clear stream. Even if I know it isn't exactly like it was 200yrs ago I can still dream.
