So now that I managed to get myself a genuine wall hanger (see 2008 Montana Bull), I have dediced to fork over some cash and get a shoulder mount. Not sure what type of pose I want to do though, and if anybody cares to throw in their two cents I am all ears. Any pics people have of examples would help a buch.

Here is a picture of where he will hang. Rudolph will get moved to the Garage, once my elk get's finished. My house is a split entry and this is the wall above the stairs to the basement. The upstairs living room opens up to the left, so I was thinking about having him look that way, which would show off his 7 point side nicely.

Any input?

will your setup work with the bull looking the direction you want to show off or will the bull be looking at the wall?

I think the long main beams of your bull will really limit the poses you can choose for a wall mount. I'd check with your taxidermist and determine what is possible, then go from there.

Too big?

Good point Oak.... never had to worry about something being to BIG to mount. You are probably right, the main beams might hit the wall no matter what I do. Maybe I should do a pedistel mount and put it in a corner, but that could cost some bucks.

How about a wall pedistal mount on the other wall. I have seen it done with deer and antelope but do they do that with elk? (Not 100% certain that is what they call it sorry)

a 330-360 bull will take up a ton of space--sneak or semi sneak is about 6' tall, sticks out between 5'-6' and will need 4'-5' of width----the turning bugle, depending on how much head tilt there is should be a little shorter and maybe just a hair less in wall stick out(probably not really), but it will need more width----they flat out take up space---with an eight foot ceiling the nose of the elk is about 30"-36" off the ground(maybe just a tad more) if I remember right-----chris
