Hey guys, I'm trying to install a tritium front sight bead on my rem 870. I am hoping to get any tips from any guys that have done this before. The bead is as tight as I can get it by hand and ain't aligned. My younger self would just crank down on it with a wrench, but I'm trying to avoid damaging the gun more than the sight, don't want to be trying to drill and tap a new hole.

Whats the official gunsmith way of doing this? My thought was file the top of the rail and thread it in again until it gets close by hand then apply loctite and give it a good snug with a wrench until it's straight?

File the bottom side of the sight with a jeweler's/ needle file until it lines up. Then back it out, add just the smallest amount of blue Loctite to the threads, reinstall and you're done.
