Seek Outside getting heat for hosting gun control nut Ryan Busse

Not when you say it that way, you hire lawyers to make it sound ominous. ;)

Like, "My client through no fault of his own was viciously attacked. The attack was slanderous and caused grave injury. My client now suffers from PTSD and has lost his job, his spouse and his friends directly flowing therefrom. Justice demands this harm be remediated."
Start an E-Busse thread as a trial (no pun) run . . .

Please do. This could be a big issue for not just Google, but Hunt Talk and all other online platforms.
While the killing of section 230 all together would pose that risk, my reading of the two SCOTUS cases is that what is being challenged is not the hosting of third-party content - the plaintiffs agree up front that is fully protected by 230 - but rather that social media algorithms that promote recommended content to users creates liability for harm resulting from the amplifying and targeting of extreme content to at risk users. Even if Google and Twitter lose under this argument the only effect I could imagine at this point for HuntTalk is needing to turn off the "similar threads" feature the latest version of your forum software has.

Tread lightly HTers, come the end of the current SCOTUS term BigFin might be liable for all the hurt feelings . . . . ;)

Ha ha, I had the same thought when I heard that news story.

Buzz, if you received 10% of your income from PETA i wouldn't buy a book you wrote about forestry or public access or just about anything. What comes first the motives or the money or the money then the motives?
Then I guess we will just disagree then and you'll be left guessing why I was receiving 10% of my income from PETA. I don't like being forced to guess.

I also believe you've proven the point that most people are already engrained in what they believe and really don't want a discussion but rather just confirmation bias.

It’s hard to tell where you land. What exactly is your issue with bringing to light SO/Kevin’s stance on 2a and leftist ideology? Should his public stances not be talked about.. publicly?

Absolutism.

Cancel culture.

Definite lack of any kind of discussion.

Why someone would take a particular position.

What the OP of this thread did had absolutely nothing do with a debate, discussion, or asking questions.

Those are the issues I see...

there are friend connections within Hunt Talk, SO, BHA, etc with Busse. This house, will defend him regardless, as friends do. Don't expect anything less.

As for our school yard bully... Meh.
That makes sense, It seems that some folks were pretty charged up at the thought of questioning SO allowing Busses on their podcast. It seemed reasonable and worthy of notifying a group that has a very vested interest in keeping our 2A rights. When lines get blurred, we enter the slow creep, I'm not interested in budging on 2A/Gun control personally. Some people hemorrhage over E-bikes, some people over defending our constitutional rights. To each their own.

We're going to blow past 14 pages at this rate!

Kevin's online activity made it pretty clear to see where he stands on things. He responded on the 'slide thread and made no clear effort to dispute anything.

I've got a feeling you wouldn't have the issues you listed above if Kevin's activity instead showed clear support for lets say 75% of big game tags going to landowners, or 50% WY tags going to NR, or transfer of most federal land to states or private.

You seemed to have missed the now deleted Twitter screenshots. There was
plenty of context.

No one is calling to cancel him as far as I’ve seen. This is a reach.

We all make choices and some of which negativity effect us and our business relationships. Kevin made his bed, more than once…

Not true, but you've already convinced yourself it is, so carry on.

You mean the ones where you can't see the entire context of the exchange(s)...yeah, I saw them.

I mean the ones you can see the entire context of, literally. It’s back a page or two, nothing is missing from his statements and his support for gun control.

I don’t imagine you’ve ever admitted to being wrong. So I won’t go any further.

Still waiting for my whitetail tips :)
