Looking for a Sat phone. I would assume Iridium. Why, 95% of my outdoor activity is alone far from anything. I don't want to rent as I want to have the phone year round. Any thoughts on reducing the monthly cost. None of the minutes in the prepaid packages seem to roll over.

not sure there's anything out there concerning this--last yr I didn't rent one(want to buy one also, but the stupid minute thing ticks me off), so I'll have to go do some research, but I expect they're still in the dark ages on this. if they could do a better minute pkg they'd sell more phones....chris
