Ruger M77 Mark II 30-338

I am currently selling My Ruger M77 Mark II with the Tang safety. It is Chambered in 30-338. I was given this rifle by my wife's family and believe it's never been fired. There are no scratches on the barrel. I have searched the web and haven't been able to find much information on the rifle. This could be a rare find for someone. If you are interested in this wildcat round. I'm $1,300.

The stamp on the barrel appears to say 30-338. Pretty sure that is not the same cartridge as 338-06.

Is it rebarreled or rechambered? Looks like a Ramline stock? Also looks like a fun time! I believe a 30-338 is a 300win case necked up 338. I would get a chamber cast done to verify. A 338-06 would also be a fun time

Its a 338 win mag necked down to .30 caliber. Before the 300 win mag, there was the 264 and 338 win mags, which share the same basic case design. Winchester announced the 300 win mag would be coming soon, and some rifle makers jumped the gun and created rifles chambered in what a 300 wm would be if it followed the 338 wm pattern. To their surprise, the 300 wm was created with a larger case capacity and shorter neck, in an attempt to compete more with the 300 wby. So the other rifles were left to an obscure cartridge, the 30-338. Im writing this off of memory from reading the speer manual years ago, but its a sweet round that is basically a 300 win mag.
