I have '92 serial number RM700 300WM...bought it new..5 or so years ago I have the factory barrel, 26", fluted as well as the bolt. Gun shoots better than me. It also has an AG composite CAT stock...Its just under 8lbs with a break...shot an antelope didn't have my ear pro in so it's been sitting my safe ever since.
It has a Timey trigger before folks start freaking out.

Need recommendations for a 20" threaded barrel, 26" is too long for my can, that will match the factory profile I want to keep the stock.

Suggestions?

TIA

Wouldn't it be cheaper and easier to have a good smith chop the barrel, recrown and thread it? You know the barrel shoots well and already has the profile you want, why gamble with another tube?

Failing that, I'm a huge fan of Lilja barrels.

I don't think there is enough material left to add threading after it been fluted...I need to dig it out of the safe and double check...its been 3 or 4 yrs.

Order a Remington sporter contoured blank from any of the reputable barrel makers and have them put a flare on the muzzle at 20” to thread for 5/8”
