RIP Gene Hackman

Hackman played a great antagonist, so sad

He was driving an immaculate shiny 4 door sedan Mercedes that was at least 40 years old.

My wife used to nanny for Fess Parker's lawyer. When Mr. Parker died his family gifted our friend his immaculate 1970s Mercedes sedan, that must be a thing with those older actors. It gets driven it to work once or twice a month, like Fess wanted.

I have to say this is pretty crazy. I read is was not carbon monoxide and they don't know who was dead longer. They did use his pace maker data and other items were taken for the investigation. It's almost like he killed his wife and then himself so the kids get it all...who knows...I'm sure we will never know the real story, but data will tell part of the story.

Just saw an article that the coroner determined his wife died before him from hantavirus. He died sometime after her from advanced heart disease with Alzheimer's contributing. Article said is Alzheimers was advanced & he may not have been aware of her death or his surroundings. Sad indeed.

Man, he likely had an incredibly nice and modern home and somehow rodents got in there heavy enough to give his wife the hanta virus. Maybe she was cleaning a crawl space or at attic. Probably thought she just had a cold at first and then got by a freight train. Terrible.

Hanta get to be a whole lot worse than a cold very, very fast. I can say that with experience. It is not something to f-with. But these are very private people and likely, she pushed very quickly to the point where she could not function or think clearly due to oxygen deprivation. I got it at the age of 25, when I was in excellent condition. I would not have survived had I been her age.

Very sad, anyway you look at it.

Not uncommon here in NM. Several deaths since I have been here.

I try and wear protective gear working or cleaning in sheds and such. But not always.
Deer mice left a mess on a bunch of my shop tools in storage. Waiting for warm weather with wind.

I figured they died somewhat like that, minus the Hanta. Very private people.

Man glad you got treated. We get hanta training where I work because we open a lot of cabins in the spring in an area with a lot of deer mice. A retired employee died from it years ago after cleaning out a shed. Crazy to think someone of their status would be dealing with cleaning mouse shit.

Mice do not understand economic or celebrity status. The disease was originally diagnosed in the 4-corners area and is common there, but it exists in most states. Peromyscus maniculatus (the deer mouse) is one of the most widely distributed mammals in North America, so we all can encounter it. Some other species will also harbor it to a smaller degree. Anyway, don't fool around when cleaning places with deer mice. If you don't know what mouse you have, assume that is it.

Spraying down an area to be cleaned with weak bleach or Lysol solution will help a lot. Wear a mask (ha, we have heard about that with viruses before - wear it anyway). And if you do not feel good, do not wait until the last minute to see a doctor, especially in today's medical world.
