Rifle’s Inc. Strata 340 Weatherby; excellent condition; Remington 700 action; 26” Lilja barrel w/ muzzle brake; 138 rounds fired; 13-1/2” LOP stock; blind magazine; weighs in at 5.5 pounds without a scope; is not a hard recoiling rifle but it hits downrange with serious authority! Have never handloaded for it but it shoots factory Weatherby ammo around ¾ MOA. This is a great brown bear, moose, grizzly, elk, and north country gun but it is also suited for any high mountain hunting where you want and need a light weight rifle that is capable of multiple shot distances. The 340 Weatherby is a ballistic counterpart of the 338 Lapua and 338 RUM. It shoots extremely flat and has a lot of downrange energy. Perfectly suited for 210 to 250 grain bullets. Cost for a new one is $3200 + a customer supplied action. Get this lightly used mountain rifle for $2950 shipped to your FFL. Scope is not included but is available if anyone wanted it. Talley one piece base/rings are included. Also for sale on GB...

Nice looking shooter, hope it sells for you. What did you do to the rem 700 action for tighter tolerances and improved accuracy?

Thanks...Rifle's Inc. does a complete blueprinting/overhaul of the action and trigger including machining the lightening the frame and bolt. His guns typically shoot very well but they are meant to hunt with, not pile drive targets at 1000 yards.

I love the Defiance Deviant and Stiller actions but I think you'd have a tough time matching the weight of one of these rifles with one of those actions. One I'm thinking about trying is the Phoenix Trinity Titanium for a lightweight build.

Yes weight is always an issue like you say, i am just finishing up gathering parts for a .338 rum with stiller action, jewell trigger, mcmillan stock etc it will be a bit heavy for backpacking, but we need a rifle with better capabilities for the longer range shots that do come up then what our .300wsm can effectively perform.
