great state of Idaho....
I decided I don’t like it....

Rode a horse....

Spotted an elk....

Shot an elk....

Freezer full....

I decided I like walking better than I do riding a horse. I like my goats way more, especially when it comes to taking care of them at night and in the morning. Thanks to my buddy Wayne for taking me out on his horses. I also do not like rifle hunting elk, I much rather call them in and harvest them with my bow.
Matt

Tough gig! Grats on the freezer filled. An arrow or bullet. Hmmm... I certainly enjoy archery much more however, if archery season ends and a tag remains, a rifle will do... and if a tag still remains? Grats on the elk Matt!

30-06 no doubt. There are so many different bullet weights for a 30-06 it's almost mind boggling. The only problem you would run into is having to re-zero your scope when switching from a 150grain to a 220grain.

It's a big jump in bullet weight and ballistics.

As far as a scope, i'm really loving my Nikon Monarch 3x12x42 with BDC reticle.
