Good to see this. I’m just starting down that road with the same. Did some load strings to find pressure last weekend and will carve out some time next week to get some groups loaded up for testing. What powder are you using?

In using h1000 with adg brass. I’ve tried 4 seating depths and 5 powder charges with these bullets. The worst group was 3/4” with most being around 1/2 moa. The load I settled on has been around 1/2 moa from 100-500 yards so far.

If I can get some RL 26 soon it will be 7mm Rem Mag 143gr Hammer Hunters out of a Seekins PH2. Next would be a .308 150gr Barnes TTSX out of a Browning Hells Canyon Speed rifle. Plan C is a borrowed 300 Win Mag Sako with whatever CPO feeds it.

Why not the 275?

I’ve got a couple of 275’s that I’ve enjoyed, with my favorite being a sweetheart Ruger #1, shooting 150gr. Nosler Partitions. I’m glad you asked, as I’ve only killed deer with that particular rifle, and would enjoy carrying it on this hunt. I think I’ll take it as a backup, and if the weather is halfway decent, it’ll become my primary.
I’ve killed a few elk with an older 7x57, and have no worries about performance.

300 wsm currently loaded with 175 lrx but a nieces boyfriend also shoots a 300wsm so I offered to load 130ttsx to see if it reduces his recoil. I will try them in my rifle but at 3500 fps, if accurate it should do well out to 400 yards.

I’ll be using a custom model 70 in 257 Weatherby with factory 120 partitions for everything this year. Sighted in for 300, 24” drop at 500.

I'll be using the 7mm mag with 140 gr sierra gamekings in front of 62 gr of IMR4350.

My son will be using the 7mm-08 with 140 gr gamekings in front of 39 gr H4895.

We both have cow tags in WY and. My son has a youth bull tag here in UT and I have a spike tag here.
