Gastro Gnome - Eat Better Wherever

Remembering when you could eat for cheap

Last week I had the chicken dinner AND a beer at the Riverhouse Grill in Big Sky, cost me $12.28. Best dinner deal in any ski town in America.

The wife and I happened to spend the night in Big Sky during the COVID outbreak. Found a pizza place that was open but had to eat outside in the cold.

Went to the local market to get a dozen eggs this morning. Didn't look at the price as they are from unhappy chickens and generally less than $4/dozen. $9.50 at the register - the owner was working and he said that price was his cost. I thought Trump said egg prices would come down on day 1...??!

$4.97 at Walmart for a dozen large here.

We ran out of eggs from our egg lady last week. Went to the grocery store and saw the dozen large were $9.99 and sold out. Dozen XL 12.49. I gotta get into chicken ranching.
