recession?

It's really interesting how hard you rag on someone who you think has mental issues, when you yourself have had your fair share of mental issues that have shared here. Just doesn't seem quite right.

I think you would be a little more considerate.

sorry i didn't intend for you to think i was ragging on you.

i'll be more clear in the future.

You can insult me, I don't care. I can't help but remind people it's not good to throw rocks in glass houses.

I don't have anything against you, I just don't understand your "Trump has mental issues" stance.

I get your view. I agree with some of it, although it is a bit complicated. In the example of cars, the problem with the "scheme" is the end result is Canada loses jobs and the US gains them. Fine in the long run, if we support your view, but in the meantime there is no benefit to Canada to conceding on tariffs. They simply add their own and wait of retaliation, rinse and repeat. Before you know it, US automakers won't sell another vehicle for the rest of the year. if not longer. If you want jobs here, you need to go to US producers and threaten them - build here or else. Trump won't do that.
No the better way is to offer incentives to increase US production--and guess what. Biden did that for things we badly do need to have more in country production--for security and other reasons.

Trump is undoing all of those incentives.

I mentioned a solar panel maker looking to expand greatly in my state--They put an end to that a few months back due to the realization of what Trump would do--and he has. Lots of very good paying jobs lost, not to mention the temporary construction boost.

You sure aren't alone, but it would help to bone up on his long history. Check out what members of his own family have said about him. Look up what people who have worked for him or creditors have said about him. Look up what many members of his own staff from his last term said about him.

Think a bit--has he ever said he made a mistake--he, not others he blames even though he was at fault--that he made a mistake and a correction was required? Has he ever said anything he does is not "perfect", "the best over" "like we have never seen before" (take your pick of all of his frequently uttered self praise statements).

That ain't normal!

That's for sure. There are so many who deny, disbelieve, or just ignore this history blatantly presented via many media venues.
Conclusion of a recent discussion of this phenonemon is that the thread of unwavering support is closely akin to a cult.

Biden did try to help USA solor production. By putting huge tarrifs on import panels. Where's the outrage?

Do you know what irony is?

Read the second line of your post. It's your own data wise guy. I just added in the Obama data to show the full picture for you, instead of letting you cherry pick the data you want to show. Here we are, and Trump's first month still isn't as bad as Obummer's first month.

Keep going, this is fun.

What you DID NOT do, is show the market a few months ahead of when each became president. The market began tanking in September of 08. The monthly job losses were large. Yes the decline continued the first couple of months in Obama's terms. Then for the remainder of his term, the market was strongly up.

The market when Trump was coming in was bumping up against all time highs. Unemployment was low, and has been for a good while. Trump even enjoyed a short honeymoon, after coming into office. Now, he is taking us for a bumpy ride with his chaotic tariff policies.

You're correct. It wasn't part of his data timeline. So I didn't add it in mine. Apples to apples.

Its mid march, not mid february.

Lets remember this conversation in a few months.

I think a lot of folks feel threatened if Trump is dissed, and certainly many seem so polarized they can't see straight.

To those on the right I say--how are you getting ahead if Trumps actions take the whole party down (which is very feasible given how few are standing up to him) and democrats run to a landslide win in every election all across the country for some years?

We need reasonable folks from both sides, not swinging from one extreme to another.

The intent of my post was a response to a claim ...by someone else, not you...that Obama led us into a recession. When he fact he inherited a real problem from the previous....Dubya....administration. And the market rise dramatically during his term.

Which is what the chart I presented showed.

You came in with a completely different cherry picked very short blip in the timeline and continue to ignore the point.

I'm on board with remembering this convo in 2 months. I'll set a reminder to message you.

It might do you some good to put your phone down. I reevaluated why I’m on here and it’s not to change people’s minds about politics.

Defend Trump all you want but that truly was a dick post bashing a fellow Hunt Talkers previous posts about their own mental health.

Bravo buddy bravo.

Now please commence telling me how wrong I am about everything.

Pretty funny how both sides sound. The Karen discourse is laughable. Let it play out. Stop checking your investment accounts 3x a day. Hug your significant other. Go for a hike. Be happy you live in the best country in the world with the freedoms many people before you fought for your ability to complain about nonsense. Pretty pathetic how people take the life they have for granted.

-Carry on
