Will I shoot better with the readers on or should i adjust the focus to work with them off?

I had lasik about 20 years - best thing EVER! Had worn glasses/contact since middle school. Was told at the time I’d need readers “when I turned 40”. Made it to 50 without needing them, but have been using them for the past 5 years. Mostly progressives. I do not wear my readers/progressives when shooting. I can see theoretical and target perfectly fine without them, and also see better through bino’s and spotting scopes without them. Which is good, because I hate wearing them!

I am doing a podcast with my Optometrist-hunter friend in the coming week. We will out this on the list of questions.
(Edit because I can't type)

Yes! I'm seeing my eye surgeon for a pre-op exam tomorrow. I have Sooo many questions.

I know I can't stand not seeing game, or gun sights like I used to.

At 59, I'm hoping that the eye, knee, hips, and back entropy are not going to put me out to pasture.

Also had lasik about 15 years ago. Wear 2X readers now.
Biggest issue has been adding a Verifier peep to my bow. Still don’t shoot bow or rifle with glasses on. Just adjust the focus without glasses. Last thing I want to be fumbling for is my dang reading glasses in the field.

I went to progessives a few years ago and my match scores fell way off. Head position behind the glass became super critical, which was no big deal prone, but if I had to shoot out of some contorted position or god forbid off my left side it was a crap shoot. Messed with my head bad! About a month ago I had single vision lenses put in a pair of shooting glasses I wore prior to progressives. Two weeks ago wearing those glasses, I had the best performance I’ve had i several years. It makes a huge difference IMO.

I had LASIK on April 15th 2019. I wanted my long distance vision to be good with no glasses. Said I would see good close up at first and then my long distance would come around fine. I am now wearing glasses again. I see worse now without them than before my Lasik. SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
