I switched over this year from IMR4064 to Big Game for my 30-06. So far I've been extremely happy. I've found it to meter very consistently and it produced adequate (1.5 MOA) groups with both 130 gr TTSX and 168 gr TTSX. I settled on the 168s and with a near max charge those things are screaming. 2840fps 10 shot average out of the 22" barrel on my rifle. 30-06 is the only cartridge I load that this powder would make sense for so no other loads to comment on. I'd be curious if anyone else is seeing similar results in .270 or other like cartridges.

Buddy uses Big Game in his .270 Sako with 130 Barnes tsx and Hornady interlocks. Both rounds shot .5 MOA and the Hornadys are usually a single ragged hole. He used that round to shoot his bighorn two years ago and several deer and elk.

I use it for .243, .270, and .30-06... When the powder got scarce a few years ago it was the only thing I could find so I bought some. Loaded all three and I can't really tell a difference. I don't know how fast if goes or anything else like the pure shooters do, but can group it a 100, 200, 300, 400. That's all I really need for my abilities and equipment.

I load 140gr accubond in my 7mm-08. At a somewhat pedestrian 2720fps they print tiny little groups
2720 is about typical for 140's from a 7mm-08 in my experience. I've loaded for that cartridge for about 7 years now, and dozens of loads amounting to thousands of rounds. Some guys can get 2800 (some even claim more) from 140's out of a 7mm-08 but I've never gotten close out of hunting-length barrels.

That's largely been true for me too, but Big Game is the one powder that has gotten me up around 2800, and with accuracy to boot!

I’m getting 2850fps from a factory 20” barrel in my 7-08 with 140 grain Accubonds.

I keep hearing about these speeds with 20" barrels from a 7-08 but I've owned five 7-08's now and probably loaded 3k rounds with 10 different powders and I've never gotten close. Even my fastest barrel ever - that shot 120 TTSX's over 3100 fps with CFE 223 - would only give me 2800 with 140's and the right powder.

You guys either have some magic barrels or I need a new Chrono!

I don’t know. It’s been pretty easy to get for me. Maybe you should try something different, if what you’re doing isn’t giving you what you want. I didn’t waste my Big Game powder on my 120 grain NBT load. I got 3000fps using Varget and that was the speed I was looking for and called it good.

I shoot the 140 Nosler BT at 2900 out of a 24” barrel. That being said the new green label big game is significantly faster than the old version.
