Barrel with can is 25” at mostHow long are your setups with can included?
Do you know if the Stone Glacier release can be adapted to use on other packs ... notably a Mystery Ranch pack? I kinda like their concept.I have a SG pack. My buddy has a knockoff quick release identical to the SG one(not sure of brand) that he has on an Osprey pack. Works fine for him.
Nope but it wasn't an issue. I crawled under a fence to test it.Have a picture with barrel in front?

The slik sling is a pack attachment very similar to the stone glacier except you don’t have to drop the pack to put the gun back in place. After being around the sg, Kifaru, and the slik sling, imo it’s the best solution out of all of them. Prior to using it I thought the kifaru was the bees kneesNo. I generally do not use slings directly on my rifles for a host of reasons. When I do, they lace on.
I don't. Look up their customer service number and give them ring. I've called a few times with questions, super helpful folks.Do you know if the Stone Glacier release can be adapted to use on other packs ... notably a Mystery Ranch pack? I kinda like their concept.
Have any pics? Interested to hear that feedback. The slik sling is a pack attachment very similar to the stone glacier except you don’t have to drop the pack to put the gun back in place. I tried the slik sling this past year. Overall works really well, looks like the updated version 3 is a little bit more refined.I'd like to revisit this subject if I may. I found a couple of older threads here on HT but instead of opening up them back up I thought best to start a new one. There appears to be some newer products out there since those older posts and revisions to older versions.
So far I've found Kifaru Gun Bearer, Slik Sling V3, FHF Gear Rifle Sling, Stone Mountain Quick Release, K4 Quick-Release Rifle Carrier to name a few.
All have pro's and cons. Some can deploy the rifle off the pack and be remounted without pack removal. Some need to remove the pack to remount the rifle. Some have the rifle under the arm and others behind. Prices seem to vary greatly.
The SG appears to be propriety to their brand of backpack?
The front carry style (Kifaru) with the rifle under arm looks like it would hinder the use of a bino harness?
Anyway, I'm looking for one to use with my Mystery Ranch pop-up 28 with a scope mounted rifle and bi-pod. If anyone would care to share comments on what I've found so far or what they're currently using that would be appreciated.
I also just got the Wiser quick stix. Big fan so farI use the Kifaru and love it. Since I started using trekking poles (best move ever) it frees up my hands, is very quick and secure. I have Wiser quix stix on my poles for a shooting rest or use my pack ...situation dependent.
