Question for the 30 cal guys

Your bullet choice/weight should change with the animals hunted. You don't want a light or quick expanding bullet for large game etc.

I’ve been shooting 130 ttsx’s in my 308, good ol 165 accubonds in 30-06 700, 180 corelokts in my 742/7600s, and hope to try some terminal ascents at some point in the future. I’ve been impressed with them in my 270

Might try and support Swift since they’re a KS brand, but I know Sciroccos are harder to find a load for allegedly

I’ve been very happy at modest distances with my 150gr Nosler E-tips in my .30-06. They are expensive though and not always easy to find.

My next rifle will start with a Barnes 168gr TTSX in the same caliber and then I’ll decide which bullet stays.

Congrats on that new rifle!

I believe this one is 2.900”, so yes and no. Can exceed SAAMI coal but not by much

Thats what i'm limited to with 300 wsm too and i have shot mostly 200eldx but 180 BT/AB as well. The RCM has near the same case body and overall length but a little less chubby. I'd probably look at 180 Ballistic tips, accubonds if you want more "controlled" wounds, or maybe 185 bergers.

Basically 30-06 level performance in a short action so anything that works well in that application likely would do the same in the RCM.

I don’t necessarily agree with this, at least for the most part. I’d shoot a 150-165gr mono or bonded for anything, including moose and down to pronghorn. I wouldn’t do that with a smaller cup and core, though
