Quake rocks Tokyo
TOKYO (AFP) - An earthquake measuring 4.9 on the Richter scale rocked Tokyo and its vicinity, the Meteorological Agency revealed.
There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage.
The quake occurred at 8:07 pm (1107 GMT) with its epicentre located in Ibaraki prefecture, some 100 kilometers (60 miles) north of Tokyo, the agency said. Its focus was about 40 kilometers (25 miles) below the surface.
There was no danger of tsunami tidal waves, the agency said Saturday.
