Put a muley down in the rut with my bow

Decoy works great in the rut...got this guy at 55 after having him at 30 a couple of times and not being able to get a shot off.

Had to trail him for about a mile before getting off the shot...he only made it about 50 yards after.

My bad. I thought the archery only season ended Oct 14 and gun season ran through Nov 25. Had no idea there was a late November archery only deer unit in MT. Learn something every day. Thanks for the heads up.

Not many archer's are able to take 2 mule deer bucks in the same year. Congrats again!

There is a certain ranch in MT that is archery only...and I could not get a shot in the willow..was within 30 yards two or three times...never outside of 70 yards...this buck the doe he was chasing and another young forky would stand and look at me...but being in the willows, he was either behind a deer or a tree or too many branches to get a good shot...but they never busted out...

A few questions

How were you able to kill 2 Montana Muley bucks? Are there special draw units that offer a second mule deer buck tag (not looking for the specific unit but confirmation that I could apply in the future). Thanks.
