The Private Land/Public Wildlife Council will meet March 18-19 in Lewistown at the Calvert Hotel, 216 Seventh Ave.
At the meeting the council will discuss Montana's Block Management program, hear perspectives on hunting access from a panel of local landowners and learn about the challenges and opportunities associated with enforcement of access programs.
Gov. Steve Bullock recently appointed 18 members to the council. Each member is interested in issues related to hunters, anglers, landowners and outfitters, including but not limited to Montana's hunting and fishing access enhancement programs, landowner-hunter relations, outfitting industry issues and other matters related to private lands and public wildlife.
Meeting times are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on March 18 and 8 a.m. to noon on March 19. The public is invited to observe council proceedings. Designated times for public comment are set for 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday and 11:30 a.m. on Thursday.
