I would love to go do some public land diy hog hunting in the future but don't want to pay to play on private land. Seems most hogs live and linger on ranch & farm land for obvious reasons.

Any states offering decent public land hog hunting?

We got a few here in SE Oklahoma and more public land then most people realize. They are very transient and highly pressured but it can be done.

Plenty to hunt on public land in Mississippi. There are some great archery or rifle places/seasons and you can hunt whitetail at the same time.

California can be good. Use the search function to find earlier threads about Public DIY there. I used to do this a lot when I lived there. Demand and pressure have increased exponentially in the intervening 30 years.

Like most places, you best bet is to buy access on private. Last I looked it was about $400/day. If I were traveling to get there, I would just call that a traveling expense.

I am actually thinking about a return to the old country to hunt next year.
