Proposition KK

American revolutionaries seeing press reports of French Royalist heads rolling: “Perhaps we should’ve gone bigger than just chucking tea in the harbor.”

Also, their national anthem is brutal, “Let the impure blood [of our enemies] water our furrows.” Yikes.
Admittedly, the French of the 1700's were a bit tougher than those of the more modern variety.

Your right to bear arms isn't being taxed. Just the transaction when you purchase it.

You do not have a right to purchase anything.
If the 2nd amendment only protects ownership and doesn't protect a right to purchase/transfer a gun, then you are saying that a state law could effectively ban guns within one generation. I don't believe this is what is intended by 2A.

I keep trying to think of analogies that support KK (devil's advocate) and perhaps the taxes on newspapers/magazines/cable TV subscriptions (protected speech under 1st amendment) is useful. However, unlike KK, these taxes are only general sales taxes, at least that I am aware of, where KK specifically targets guns and ammo.
