Had a set of those mounts on a .375; might be on the same paper plate at 100 yards, but that was something like 40 years ago.

Nice rifle! I bet it will be a great shooter, I like the checkered butt and personally wouldn't think of sawing it off and adding a pad. I have a soft spot for the Husqvarna guns and have a 640 in 9,3x62 that I really love.

I think the Huskies are great quality rifles for the $$$. I've got a 146 9.3x57 and a custom 7x57 that I built on a 640s action. They are some of my favorite rifles in the safe

Before you mess that up with a pad, shoot it and see how you like it with the checkered butt. Gorgeous rifle. Best stock I've seen on a Husky. The notches on it give it a lot of character. Well done!
