There is no one size fits all. Each hunter has to really think about how they will use optics, conditions and weapons they hunt with, etc. With that info, then you can really start to assess what best fits your needs and where you are willing to make trade-offs.For the applications I use mine for I wouldn’t buy a pair without range in them. I didn’t know there was that much difference in the glass of range and non rangefinding though that is interesting. To each their own I guess.
I know plenty of folks that don't want a RF bino, for a variety of reasons. For my muzzy hunting and the shear number of hunts I'm helping other, usually less experienced folks, I love the idea of not having to switch between good bino's and a RF to give ranges as things are happening. To be able to stay on an animal with good optics and also get ranges...very appealing to me and the type of hunting/helping I do.
