Poacher let go?

I can’t read the whole thing either, but it’s not surprising if the case was thrown out. This past Wednesday my chapter of the Oregon Hunters Association had the ODFW anti poaching coordinator in to present, and from what they were saying it’s pretty hard to get judges to hear these cases.

Oddly enough, a large part of the problem is a lack of public defenders. If the poacher doesn’t have their entitled legal representation, they can’t be put on trial. With how few public defenders there are to go around, most poaching cases fall to the bottom of the priority list and get tossed out. Never would have thought not being able to afford a lawyer could actually benefit a criminal.
