Two gold stars for anyone who can tell me what this plant is. I know it doesn't look very exciting, but it was. ;)

I weed whipped and sprayed a bunch of it outta my backyard last week, is that bad?

So is the area off limits to the powers that be?

The powers that be will check it out on Monday. I expect the Bureau of Livestock and Mining to make the prudent call on this one, though. The largest population of this plant, which consists of over 80% of all known individuals, occurs on private property where it is not protected, because the species is not listed. It is currently being reconsidered for listing.

Oak, funny thing happened this morning, I was just turning off the tv and headng to work, My little daughter was watching survior man waiting for him to drink his own pee again.
Anyway she told me to keep it on for a min. he was in the badlands she said.
And I shit you not that plant you posted , he uprooted one and used the roots for something. I looked and said wow I know that plant( thanks to this post) and my little daughter said thats the one the guy posted on the hunting site the other day.

might want to check that episode out. I would be curious if it was the same one, to me it looked like the same type of leaf as the one above and the same type of flower in color, but I looked at the leafs more cause flowers pretty much look the same.

They showed a very close up detailed pic of it also.

Awesome, hard to beat a good day of nerding out on plants and getting paid for it.
