@1_pointer Time to place some random bottom structure for the world class fishing future.

That is this winters plan!! Hope to have some fish in it by next spring, assuming it fills. Got over an inch of rain this week, so I'm interested in seeing the level now. It's got a pretty darn big drainage area feeding into it.

Over Labor Day weekend, my sisters husband, FIL, and step son built a dam to create a lake on some new acreage my family and hers purchased this past winter. Here it is Oct 12:

You sure have an eye for the detail of things in nature! Many people never look this deep and miss out on natures interesting variables.

Some hardwood tree bark comparison growing at a close distance. In order from left to right. Yellow Birch, American Beech, White Birch, followed by more American Beech. I don't think I have ever seen three species growing within 4 feet of ground space.

My photography has not been up to snuff this year, but the year is yet young, so I'll get better (I hope).

Meanwhile, only one bird today and down in the lowlands... Gus had to break ice for this one.
