Grandpa (black hat, white shirt) flanked by two of his brothers, far right is a nephew. Except for his service during the Korean War, Grandpa Joe had beagles, often a number of them, from age 5 to 76. I can only imagine the number of rabbits he killed over beagles through the years.
Petrified whitetail nuts in Itasca State Park in northern MN. During the gutting process a member of our group hung these in a crotch of a tree and somehow they never got eaten by any critters. The tree has since engulfed them and they're rock hard. Don't ask me how.
