If you had to spend a night on the ice, would you go after lakers, walleye, or trout? In Colorado if that makes a difference. There are lakes with quality fish of all species, looking for the most predictable species from dusk till dawn.

I would personally sleep in my own bed and get up early/stay late. The only species of those 3 I’d be targeting dawn/dusk/evening would be walleye.
Just gotta put the bed on the ice. Heading out this weekend in our ice house on the lake targeting eyes and we will catch most in the dark and a lot while sleeping (rattle reels wake you up when one grabs a line)

-25 at my house this morning. Plenty of ice on all the lakes around here. Personally I would and have gone after Ling during the night but of the options you give it is hands down walleye. I have actually had better luck with trout species during the day.

South Park stays cold for sure. Really want to hit Ryeful gap(misspelled out of paranoia). It's been a little warm out that way. Tried for some lakers this weekend, west of South Park, was a good day, but surprised to see only 10 inches of ice. Saw this interesting sight as wellPXL_20250208_185431943~2.jpg
