YUP only a month away. Almost every year around the first of the year we start to see a few gophers sticking their heads out of the snow. And, at the end of February, We can see quite a few Out on the calm sunny days, even when the snow is on the ground. Mostly in town gophers, the "country" gophers come out later. I have read that the early gophers are last year's yearling males looking to stake out their claim on the prime property (a mating thing). This year nothing. That's not a good sign for us little doggy blasters. Prairie dogs on the other hand can be out all year and will come up to sun themselves on the calm winter sunny days. They are great sport and leave a perfect red cone of spray on the bright white snow. We can't get to them as much because of the snow, dang it. we have hunted them on 4-wheelers and snow dog...
I'm ready the boy has me and the GD loaded with ammo and I laid in a GOOD supply of rim fire ammo.
